Today, the Florida state legislature is considering a bill to limit citizens’ ability to bring forward direct democracy through the ballot initiative process.

Republican City Council Member Ron Salem is considering launching a local DOGE in Jacksonville, and has set up a meeting on Tuesday, 3/11. He may intend to use a local DOGE as a tool to cut city services, cut personnel, and hinder others working towards positive change in Jacksonville city government.

It’s crucial that a large group show up at City Hall at 3:30 PM on Tuesday, 3/11, to rally and, if possible, attend his meeting at 4:00pm to express opposition to the creation of a “Duval DOGE”. IM, other local Indivisible groups and the Duval Dems will be hosting the rally.
