First, a very special thanks to Sully, Flo, Rod, Barbara, James, Mary Ann, Robin, Debra, Jim, Lynn, the St. Johns Democrats, and 50501 for helping us to make this happen!
Now the information for tomorrow:
📍 Location: Castillo de San Marcos National Monument
🕙 Time: 10 AM – 12 PM (No march — we’ll rally at the fort). There will be approximately 45 minutes of speaking.
Speakers start around 10:15. Want to speak? Let us know on-site and we’ll do our best to fit you in.
🚗 Expect heavy traffic on San Marco Ave — lots of good spots for sign-waving!
🅿️ Parking:
There is limited paid parking at the fort — it will likely fill before 10 AM. We recommend using the city parking garage at 1 Cordova St — it’s just a short walk away and has plenty of space.
🪧 Bring: water, sunblock, bug spray, a hat, a chair/blanket if needed, and signs! We’ll also have a sign-making contest for the most original one!
✌️ Reminder: This is a Peaceful Protest!
We expect a few counter-protesters, but they are not allowed on Fort grounds. We have a permit and have notified St. Augustine Police.
Do not engage with agitators — no talking, no responding, no touching. Just walk away. Look for our orange-vested safety volunteers if you need help. We’re here to keep everyone safe.
Do not block sidewalks or streets
🚻 Bathrooms: Across the street behind the Pirate Museum:
42 1/2 St George St, St. Augustine, FL 32084
♻️ Please help us leave the area cleaner than we found it.
See you Saturday — let’s make some noise (peacefully) ! Have some fun! As John Lewis said, lets make GOOD Trouble.
